In addition, $10,000 Rural Landholder Grants are available to rural landholders and aquaculture producers in local government areas declared for the NSW East Coast severe weather event (AGRN 1212), who do not qualify for the Natural Disaster Relief Grant.

These grants are designed to lower disruption in affected areas and help primary producers and rural landholders by contributing to recovery costs.

$25,000 Natural Disaster Relief Grants

Primary producers, primary production enterprises, and aquaculture producers in NSW who have suffered direct damage as a result of severe weather on the NSW East Coast and/or Tropical Cyclone Alfred may be eligible for a $25,000 Natural Disaster Relief Grant.

Funding can be used for infrastructure repairs, debris removal, replacing lost crops and plants, restoring fields, and assisting injured livestock.

An initial payment of $5,000 is available upon providing evidence of direct damage, with the remaining funds accessible after submitting and verifying valid tax invoices and proof of payment.

$10,000 Rural Landholder Grants

Rural landholders and aquaculture producers impacted by severe weather in the NSW East Coast who do not qualify for the Natural Disaster Relief Grant may be eligible for a Rural Landholder Grant, offering up to $10,000 to support recovery.

These grants aim to ease personal and financial distress by supporting eligible landholders and aquaculture producers who have suffered direct damage to their assets due to the disaster.

Funding may be used to repair damaged buildings, remove debris, damaged materials, and destroyed crops, restore crops, plants, and fields, and assist injured livestock.

How to prove direct damages

Direct damage refers to physical damage caused by the disaster event. To qualify for one of the grants, you must provide evidence of direct damage to your property. You will be asked to provide up to five photographs with time, date and location stamps when applying.

Costs covered by the grants

Grant funds can be used for clean-up and recovery expenses, including:

  • removal of debris, damaged materials, and deceased livestock

  • livestock health maintenance

  • repair or replacement of fodder, fencing, and essential water infrastructure

  • testing water and soil quality.
