From 1 November 2021, a Company Director will need to apply for a 15 digit Director Identification Number (Director ID). This will be used to trace Director relationships with companies. The Director ID will only need to be applied once and will stay with the Director for life.
When do individuals need to apply for a Director ID?
If you were a Director:
Before 1 November 2021, you have until 30 November to 2022 to apply
If you become a Director:
Between 1 November 2021 to 4 April 2022 within 28 days of appointment
From 5 April 2022 before the appointment
How do individuals apply for a Director ID?
1. You will need to have a MyGovID account (this is different to MyGov). If you do not have a MyGovID, please refer to instructions on setting that up here.
2. Refer to the ABRS website for further information and steps to complete your Director ID application.
3. Once submitted, your Director ID should become immediately available to you. Please save this information.
